Ulladulla area for couples

May 12, 2018 | BANNISTERS 10 things to do in the Ulladulla area for couples

Here are the top 10 things to do in the Ulladulla area for couples. The Bannisters staff know all the local secrets and we love to share our tips with visitors.

Beach Walk

The Mollymook area is renowned for its white sands and pristine waters dotted along the coast. Stretch your legs and take a walk together as you breath in the fresh salty air and let the waves lap at your feet. With so many unspoilt beaches close by, there’s a patch of sand to suit everyone. Visit local favourites – Mollymook Beach, Narrawallee Beach and Jones Beach.

Bannisters Day Spa

Nestled within Bannisters by the Sea hotel, the Day Spa is the perfect setting to relax and recharge with your partner. Making the most of the clifftop location and proximity to the ocean, a semi alfresco cabana is available for treatments for two, complete with the lulling sound of waves below. Try the ‘Kindred Spirits’ treatment and enjoy some time out together in a private Hamman steam room followed by an indulgent massage.

Champagne and Oysters

Kick off the weekend with freshly shucked oysters and a glass of your favourite bubbles. Take in panoramic ocean views as the sun sets from the deck of Rick Stein’s restaurant as you savour this perfect pairing. Every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm.

Cupitt’s Winery Cellar Door

The NSW South Coast is home to some fantastic wineries, including Cupitt’s. Make a day of it and head down to their cellar door to sample award-winning wines and learn firsthand about the wine making process. Open Wednesday to Sunday.

Tee Up Together

Mollymook boasts two unique golf courses. Mollymook Beachside Course is a 9 hole 33 par course overlooking a picturesque stretch of coastline. Perfect for leisurely paced play for both beginners and accomplished players. The Hilltop course provides more oomph for golfing enthusiasts. Also known as ‘the ultimate challenge’, the course is 18 holes settled amongst bushland beauty. Amble along the tree-lined fairways and rolling greens as you and your other half put your skills to the test.

Dinner for Two

Ulladulla and the surrounding areas are a gastronomical wonderland of acclaimed restaurants. Perfect for long lazy lunches or a romantic dinner date, here are a few suggestions.

Rick Stein at Bannisters

The seaside location and menu teeming with the freshest local seafood prepared in Rick Stein’s signature style make for a meal that won’t soon be forgotten.

St. Isidore

Sitting pretty amongst the lush Milton countryside, St. Isidore’s offers a dining experience thoughtfully designed in their garden and lovingly brought to the plate.

Tallwood

Tallwood embraces the culture of sharing food and experiences over the table.  Partake of one of their delicious share plates and let a meal become an ideal setting to create lasting memories.

Pigeon House Mountain

For duos looking for a challenge, a hike up the iconic Pigeon House Mountain trail is a must. Trek through forest, heathlands and age-old sandstone before making your way up a series of ladders that lead to the summit. The incredible panoramic views are the ultimate reward. Pause on the peak for a well deserved rest, perhaps even some lunch, before heading back down the slope.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Whether working in tandem or manoeuvring your own board, SUP is a fun way to explore the coast and soak up the local scenery. With plenty of serene pockets of calm waters, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Browse the Markets

Meander among the stalls and local wares to find a memento of your visit to the area – the markets are a great way to spend a morning. With several markets established in the area, you’ll find goodies such as arts and crafts, homemade foods, plants and clothing.

Mollymook markets, held on the reserve overlooking Mollymook Beach, are a rare treat running every fifth Sunday while the markets at Ulladulla Harbour pop up on the second Sunday of each month.

Live Music

While away a few hours with tunes and a tipple. The Rooftop at Bannisters Pavilion hosts local talent every Sunday afternoon from 4pm and Bannisters Pool Bar features local favourite Roddy Reason on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday of every month and alternating Sundays. Both locations serve up delicious bites and a killer cocktail list!
