The South Coast of NSW may be well known for its pristine beaches, but it also happens to be home to some great wineries! Wine lovers won’t be disappointed by what the region has to offer when they arrive at the Cellar Door. Read our go-to guide to the best wineries near Ulladulla so that you can have a truly memorable day out.

Cupitt’s Winery

If you fancy spending the day tasting award-winning wines, learning firsthand about the wine making process and enjoying fresh local produce while surrounded by lush countryside, then Cupitt’s is for you!

The Cupitt family have a true passion for wine making, producing wine with a distinct old world quality influenced by traditional French and Italian methods. Do yourself a favour and make your way to their Cellar Door - open Wednesday to Sunday with no bookings required.

Want the complete Cupitt’s experience? Be sure to book ahead for the winery tour and spend some time meandering through the vineyards and barrel room as you learn about everything from the grapes to fermentation.

Craft beer aficionados can revel in the next stop on the tour – Cupitt Craft Brewers. Operating since 2014, the microbrewery offers tasting paddles to wet your whistle.

Nothing pairs better with wine than cheese and Cupitt’s has that covered too. The tour visits the Cupitt’s Fromagerie, where you’ll learn about their range of boutique cheeses and be sure to find something you love. The tour finishes up with a tasting at the Cellar Door, where you can enjoy a drink and take in the property’s impressive views.

Two Figs Winery

Travelling a little further up the coast you’ll find Two Figs. A stunning location teamed with award-winning wine make this winery well worth the hour drive from Ulladulla.

Established in 2003, Two Figs is a boutique winery and vineyard sitting pretty atop one of Mount Coolangatta’s foothills. The prime position offers 360 degree views of the Shoalhaven – a more perfect place to enjoy a sip or two is hard to imagine. To top it off, Two Figs was also recently named best wine made on the South Coast.

If you’re keen to sample the best of the best for yourself, the Cellar Door is open daily between 11am and 5pm. You’ll have the option to try the Gourmet Produce Plate or personalise your nibbles with delicious options from the deli fridge.

Coolangatta Estate

Just a short drive from Two Figs sits Coolangatta Estate, a winery with a long history. In fact, they have been growing grapes at the foothills of Mount Coolangatta since the 1800’s. Now, Coolangatta Estate has grown to become the largest wine producer in the Shoalhaven and the most awarded winery on the NSW South Coast to boot.

Feeling a little adventurous? How about a Segway Tour! Tours of the vineyards and the estate are on offer for visitors keen to get out and enjoy the fresh country air and learn about the property’s history as the first European settlement on the South Coast. Have some serious fun as you cruise around the vineyards and up the base of Coolangatta Mountain.

Silos Estate

On the outskirts of historic Berry you’ll come across Silos Estate. Historic itself, Silos Estate was established in 1870 as a dairy farm. Now fully restored, the charming estate still operates from the original buildings. The tasting room can be found in an old dairy shed and is open 7 days a week between 11am and 5pm.

A true highlight of Silos Estate has to be the award-winning restaurant. Dine alfresco with endless views of the vineyard and feast on comforting country cuisine. Executive chef Andrew Hickie is an internationally renowned chef with a resume that can’t be beat. Your tastebuds will be in for a treat.

Cambewarra Estate

For those with a sweet tooth, High Tea at Cambewarra Estate will hit the spot. Why not start with wine tasting at the Cellar Door and finish amongst the grape vines with a selection of sweet and savoury treats and a glass of bubbles. Both the Cellar Door and High Tea are open Friday to Sunday and promises to be a delightful experience.

With so many great wineries on offer in the area, there’s no better way to experience a taste of the NSW South Coast. We’ll cheers to that!
